Balance the Mind, Body, and Spirit

When Stress Costs Money and Creates Inconvenience

It has been a long and expensive week. Already a little wound up with the approaching holidays, and I don’t have the family concerns many have, our hot water went out. Fortunately we have 2, so no cold showers. Unfortunately our bot water heater powers our heating, so the kitchen and living room end of the house had no hot water and no heat. Again fortunately, we don’t have a big house and we do have a fireplace.

Repair one, the cheapest possibility didn’t work. As we have heat in one end and a fireplace, we are not an emergency. Three days later, repair two didn’t work. This one was half the cost of a whole new unit. Three days later a whole new unit comes in. Seven hours to install. Now we are in almost $2000 (gas water heaters with the heater attachments are costly, luckily other repairs are credited into this). Two small leaks and still no heat. One more visit I have hot water and heat. One more visit for leak repair and hopefully eight days later we are a little lighter in the wallet (or more into debt, however you want to look at it), but all back to normal.

Money and stress, money and stress…the cycle never ends. But this is how it is, we can’t control a failing hot water heater. I could yell, kick, scream, and blame everyone else; I would still have a broken hot water heater. Thanks to good credit and a home equity line these problems are fixable, now I just have to accommodate the debt, but it doesn’t stop that hot, burning, twisting pain in your gut, the headaches, the teeth clenching, the muscle stiffness, and the sleepless nights spent tossing and turning.

So again, I turn to deep breathing, aromatherapy, and flower essence therapy…not a pill. No prescriptions, no wait for a doctor visit, no chemical alterations, no personality changes, no up and down mood swings. No family squabbles as flower essence therapy is energy medicine available to us all, aromatherapy is infused for us all to benefit, and deep breathing aids us in bringing it all in. And we all can have these things readily available in our homes for these everyday stress events.

I have a full supply and know how to use them 😉

Holistic Health, what does it mean? How hard is it to do? Does it cost a lot of money? To me, it means taking responsibility for your life and working towards balance. It can be hard, as hard as you make it. Everything costs money, how much is up to you. Sometimes the only cost is time. My dream is to teach how to balance life by encompassing varied areas of holistic health and bring the magic of alternative therapies to others.
