Flower Essence Therapy is an Amazing Thing

Last night another side of SAD kicked in…insomnia. Up and down all night long, sleeping about 45 minutes at a time, listening to the wind and the rain. And to top it off, the clocks fell back an hour.

I couldn’t get myself out to the gym, but I got showered and dressed. This may sound trivial, but it is a very important part of the fight against SAD. I got the laundry going and decided to finish up the ‘making part’ of my product making for the weekend. But I sat on the couch. Not a good move ā˜¹

Now in my mind, this is an acute situation. So I grabbed my five flower/Rescue blend.

Several hours later, my kitchen is clean, my soap is CPOP-ing, bed linens are changed, chicken and dumplings in the crock pot, laundry is almost finished, grocery shopping is done, lunch is finished, and I am even considering doing the dreaded product labeling. Not to mention I am typing this.

There are many flower essences out there. I prefer the original 38 by the founder, Dr. Edward Bach. I am blessed to have my own practitioner kit as it was the subject of my dissertation. I am also blessed with the knowledge obtained during my in depth study time.

One important lesson in flower essences, while Rescue is a great go to in acuteĀ times, when seeking an individual essence, it is so important to take the time to askĀ the questions and do the research. While the presenting symptomology may be the same, the underlying cause may not be. This is why I am a practitioner of holistic medicine with a focusĀ on stress and stress management. It is often the underlying cause for what is wrong, but we must find what is causing it and work towards a solution, or at least a method of coping that is positive.

I know this makes me different from many holistic practitioners. I do not want to work with women’s studies, or cancer, or weight. But I do find myself intriguedĀ towards the stressors involved with these areas, the stressors of everyday life, the extreme stressors, and the stresses we inflict on ourselves.

We cannot always control what happens to us, but we can control how we react to these things. And I will never say no to a little energy medicine in the form of Flower Essence Therapy. šŸŒ¼

Holistic Health, what does it mean? How hard is it to do? Does it cost a lot of money? To me, it means taking responsibility for your life and working towards balance. It can be hard, as hard as you make it. Everything costs money, how much is up to you. Sometimes the only cost is time.
