As The Cooler Weather Sets In, Protect Your…

As the cooler weather starts to set in, protect your lips. As harsh as the sun can be on them, the cooler weather can be as equally as harsh.

When it’s not as hot outside, we tend to drink less water; thus creating a drier environment in our mouths. We lick our lips, but it’s just not enough. So you know where I am going with this…LIP BUTTER. Make it your best friend for the cooler months. Coat and protect your lips with it multiple times a day. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm…

What’s the best way to ensure you apply it regularly? Get one you love. There are many different formulations that leave a different feeling on the lips. Waxy, greasy, thick, and then the one that you find is just right for you. Personally, I make my own.  I start with a blend of oils, whatever I feel like at the moment, but mostly grapeseed oil.  I infuse the oils with my favorite blend of lip nourishing herbs. My favorites are chamomile, calendula, and lemon balm. Add beeswax for firmness, a little zinc oxide powder, a little flavor, in a tube (or other container) and it’s done.

Why do I choose the raw materials I named? Well, you have to come back to find out the answers to that. But in the meantime, love your lips with lip butters. Can’t make your own, or simply don’t want to? Ask me about getting some of mine.

*All funds obtained from my homemade products go into more raw materials and taking more classes. I’m just a big ‘ol nerd that loves to learn.

Holistic Health, what does it mean? How hard is it to do? Does it cost a lot of money? To me, it means taking responsibility for your life and working towards balance. It can be hard, as hard as you make it. Everything costs money, how much is up to you. Sometimes the only cost is time. My dream is to teach how to balance life by encompassing varied areas of holistic health and bring the magic of alternative therapies to others.
